MRI for Claustrophobic people in Chennai

Unless you are claustrophobic, my words might not make sense to you. I m big time claustrophobic, recently i have been ailing with some cervical (neck and spine) issue almost for a couple of months now. I tried all allopathy, ayurvedic and Kerala treatment, i m not completely cure yet. I started with Ayurvedic, but the doctor said it is a slow process and may take time to heal. Then i shifted to allopathy, was under doctors treatment for a month, tried few medicines and procedures, but none of them worked. Finally, my doctor asked me to take an MRI of Cervical spine. I called up a famous scan centre, they had an administrative office in Ashok Nagar and scanning centre in royapettah. The Senior manager said that there is some 50% off on MRI and the total cost for a Cervical spine MRI is 5300. I went to Ashok Nagar paid the money. They gave a slip to be produced at Royapettah centre to perform the scan. i finished my other work and reached Royapettah centre around 11 AM, i was feeling gung ho till i reached the centre, as everything on that day have been progressing smoothly. I had to wait for an hour for my turn, they gave me a dress for MRI scan. i was ready and entered the MRI scanning room. i laid down on the moving bed and was slowly pushed into the small tunnel, something got better off me and i immediately raised an hand for help. i was scared to death, was feeling suffocated as soon as i entered the rim of the tunnel. The technicians passified me, but i came out. I felt calling my friend would help me come out of that eerie feeling, i waited for an couple of hours and then he showed up. mustered some courage and went inside the room again. Even that attempt failed as i was not able to cope up with the claustrophobic problem i had. Made another 2 attempt and failed miserably. finally decided to do do it with the help of anesthetize. But even that was defeated as my feeling of claustrophobia completely took over me. After a couple of weeks of horror, i finally found a solution. Glen Eagles Global Hospital has the latest MRI scan machine, which is known as wide bored MRI machine, this machine has been developed especially for claustrophobic people. Thought this post would help many claustrophobic people like me, when they are asked to do an MRI.
